The South Hutchinson Police Department is seeking a qualified applicant for an open police officer vacancy who has a desire to make a positive difference in our community. The department currently has 7 full-time officers, including admin staff and is a 24/7 police service for its community.
Minimum qualifications for this position include; no felony convictions, domestic violence convictions or non-traffic misdemeanor convictions. The applicant should be 21 years of age at the time of appointment, possess a valid Kansas driver’s license, a high school diploma or an equivalent to, and be a U.S. citizen. A preferred candidate will be one with the minimum requirements as well as previous full-time law enforcement experience and who currently holds certification through Kansas CPOST. Candidates with no experience or certification will still be considered for this position and must successfully complete training at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.
The hiring process includes submission of a completed application, background check, written test, and oral interview board.
